Sleeping Beauty icons for Disney2020
Real Life things:
The new job is fantastic. I first became aware of it when my boss disappeared one day and came back with lemon squares. You don't understand what this means to me. Lemon squares are my weakness. There are three desserts which, if you feed them to me I will love you forever and they are cheesecake, anything with chocolate, and lemon squares. This job is feeding me so well, I almost don't want to go to school next year, I want to stay and work. (Not that it's important, but we have also had raspberry coconut squares, blueberry pie, chocolates, and, on three separate occasions, chocolate chip cookies, two of which were homemade.) This job roxors, seriously.

I know I'm usually on the fence about my icon posts, but I am really quite pleased with this batch.

Because it's the first thing I noticed, and I need to flail over my love for needtobreathe; jklajkl;sdjklsd NEEDTOBREATHE <3
Have you heard their new album? The Reckoning is awesome, as is A Place Only You Can Go.de

I bet they're just trying to bribe you into sticking around. Still. Mmmm, the food sounds so good.
Lanni: (princess & the frog) dynamiteproverbsun on October 22nd, 2011 07:04 pm (UTC)
Yes! They are awesome. (I feel like maybe it was you who told me to listen to them...? It's highly possible, anyway.) At first I was kind of meh about them, but they've totally grown on me and now I love them.
I only know their stuff from The Outsiders, which is sad, but I kind of want to go buy all their CDs because I think I will love them all. Ergh, I am supposed to be saving money...

If they are trying to bribe me, it's working. (My dad keeps telling me this job's bad for my health. I DON'T EVEN CARE. :P )

They're totally like that. I might have been the one! I'm trying to convert as many as possible to getting their awesomeness. I love 'em. Some of my favorites are from The Outsiders, but The Heat is really good, and I love most of the stuff from their newest, The Reckoning.
BTW, do you have a Spotify? It's so amazing, and there's so much good music they've got available, even on the free level! I'm trying to convert the world...LOL

Bad for your health, whatever; good for your tummy!
Lanni: (star wars) han soloproverbsun on October 28th, 2011 04:01 am (UTC)
I heard Slumber for the first time at work the other day and I really liked it, so I think I shall enjoy The Reckoning whenever I get my hands on it. :D
*long-suffering sigh* I do not have a Spotify because APPARENTLY it is UNAVAILABLE in CANADA. :| I am doomed to despair and disappointment...

LOL one day my metabolism will give out and my arteries will finally clog and I will get fat and die of a heartattack but DANGIT I will have eaten well. ;)
We had cupcakes today. And apple pie yesterday.

Yesss, I love pretty much the whole thing. Right now The Reckoning and A Place Only You Can Go are my favorites. I've got huge hearts in my eyes from the different sounds in that last one; it almost reminds me stylistically of Amazing Grace.
Ugh. Why!? Canadians are people too! Geez Spotify...:/

LOL! That's totally the mentality to keep. My dad has his priorities; he always says to eat dessert first, because life is short.

ALKFJALJGH A PLACE ONLY YOU CAN GO. And The Reckoning too ASHDKFAJKLJ. I've told you you have fabulous taste in music, right? Because if I haven't I am a horrible person. :D
a girl who knew how to be happy even when sadsgmajorshipper on November 9th, 2011 03:01 am (UTC)
LOL! Thank you! My reaction to the whole CD practically was a keysmash.
Since we're on the topic of music...have you heard Mat Kearney? His latest CD in particular, Young Love, is so amazing(well, I mean, I love all his albums, lol). (He's the artist behind Closer To Love)
Lanni: (doctor who) melody pond is a superheroproverbsun on November 10th, 2011 02:06 am (UTC)
Yes! I love him! I haven't heard his new CD yet, but I've been kind of in love with him since I heard City of Black and White a few months ago. :D

Your job sounds AMAZING. Just going to say.

Also, these are so beautiful!! I think my favorites are facebook (lol!), forever, blending, texture, negative space (love the contrast of the vivid green and the red!), touch, pain, taste (best scene!), and AC's 2, 4, and 5. So, pretty much everything, but it's all so pretty, how do I choose?!
Lanni: (doctor who) martha jones ftwproverbsun on October 22nd, 2011 07:11 pm (UTC)
IT IS. It feels strange, enjoying my job. I'm not used to it. ;)

Thanks! :D Hee, I'm glad you like so many. (Negative space was kind of an accident, but it turned out so well! I was pleased.) Haha, Skumps is totally my favourite part too. My brothers and I sing it obnoxiously at the dinner table all the time. XD

Wohoo! Sounds like you have an amazing boss. :D (Congrats on the new job, by the way, however belatedly.)

Ooh, lovely icons! :D Facebook and Taste (Skumps!) are funny. Forever, Outlined Text, AC 2-4, and Alternates 6 & 8 are just soooo pretty. :D

Totally unrelated to this post, but hopefully you shall find it interesting: I just finally got to read The Lost Hero since my sister got it out from the library (her second or third time, I think, but I believe I was gone the previous time or two). *squees happily* Leo is great. :D And I always forget that Rick Riordan's books make me want to go on a road trip of North America and just stop by all the sites he mentions. ;D My sister is something ridiculous---9? 17?---in the hold list, but we'll get Son of Neptune sometime. :)
And Throne of Fire is also at our house currently, but I'm holding off on it until next weekend, after I've finished this week's hw assignments (which, actually are in pretty good shape, despite my reading TLH for large chunks of the weekend), turned in a paper (not so good shape, partially due to my reading TLH for large chunks of the weekend) and taken two class exams on Friday, and had my massively long (I've never had an 8 hr exam before...) professional exam. Because after all that it is through, irregardless of the final results, I want something nice waiting for me at the end. :P

I totally thought I replied to this ages ago. Where is my brain?

My boss is amazing! It's such a change from my old job, and it's so fantastic to work somewhere where my coworkers are Christians and they feed me and guh. I could just gush forever. (And thanks!)

Thank you dear! I'm glad you like them! :D

AHH! :D I'm so excited for you! I loved The Lost Hero (Leo is my favourite too. He's so adorable!) but I think Son of Neptune is even better. Of course, I am biased because of Percy, but still, it's fantastic. And so is Throne of Fire so I hope you enjoy that too! I love how he can reuse the same theme/idea/premise but always make it new and never boring.
BTW neglecting homework is perfectly acceptable if you are reading Rick Riordan books while doing so. True facts. ;)
Also, I think I will just keel over and die if I ever have to take an 8 hour exam, so congratulations for not dying. ;)
ValiantArcher: Pascalvaliantarcher on November 9th, 2011 04:17 am (UTC)
No worries! I know how that goes. ;))

:D That's great! A good boss makes such a difference, as do the coworkers. It sounds lovely all around. :)

:D Don't get me wrong, I liked Jason and Piper just fine, too, but Leo was the star for me. Even if machining isn't my cup of tea, it's still closely connected to mechanical engineering, so... And Leo using knowledge of material properties to save them all from Cyclops! Why, no, I'm not taking Metallurgy and far too entrenched in ME classes. ;)
So, I've read The Throne of Fire now, and I liked it, too. I loved Carter's relationship with Sadie, even if he kept getting the short end of the stick on the whole rescue thing. :D And Walt was great. Though, I'm a bit put out with Sadie and the whole love-triangle thing. :P But Bes! And Ra! He's completely nuts, but he's more together than he looks, a bit unnervingly, though I'm not sure what the importance of "Zebras are good" or whatever it was is exactly yet. o_O I wish I'd figured out what Sadie had there. :D
*bounces excitedly* So! I literally just finished The Son of Neptune. *squees happily* I saw your gif post about it on Tumblr and I agree with your thoughts there. :D I was so excited to be reading about Percy again (there were so many things I'd forgotten---I looked up the spa incident before they explained it, and I haven't yet remembered the guy on the pier---even about Percy, like how quick he is to get into fights and how much he hates being accused of things he's innocent of), and I was rather put out at first that there were three "narrators"...but then Frank and Hazel won me over, and I was okay. :D Speaking of which! I saw that you liked them better than the Piper/Jason/Leo combination, and I wasn't planning on it, but now I agree with you. :D I'm sorry, Piper, but Hazel is a bit more interesting, and Jason, you ain't got nothing on Percy, no offense. Frank and Leo are both great, so I can't really choose between them, even though it looks like it's being set up so that someone will have to choose... *grumbles* No more love triangles, please! At this rate, I think Clarisse is about the only left who hasn't been in one/isn't heading towards one. :P /end exaggeration. So, I can't wait until next fall now, and my head is now spinning about with theories about Leo, and the Seventh demigod, and Annabeth. (Sorry about the long ramble---my younger sister and I are the only ones in the family who've read it, so besides her, I haven't been able to talk to anyone about it...)
By the way, I stayed up way too late (just past midnight on a school night, not doing hw) last night to finish The Son of Neptune, so I'm glad you approve of slacking off when there's Riordan to read. ;) (And then I picked up The Lightning Thief to refresh my memory on a couple of things...and read it all this afternoon, when I should've been working on a lab report and hw. *hangs head*)
Thanks! I didn't die, and I think I have a decent shot at passing (pass-fail, not percentage exam), so we'll see. :) And it was wonderful to come back and read. ;)
